The Gift of Wintering: Learning to Embrace Life’s Seasons
Wintering has been selected this month for our book club review because of it’s relatable, mindful anecdotes and well-being focus. As an academic, Katherine May writes a personal, relatable account of her ‘Winters’, including instances of rejection, loss, failure, grief, or fatigue. The author also shares generous insights gained from periods of rest and retreat. During this Winter season, this book may offer some comfort and well-deserved refreshment.
Creative Living Beyond Fear: Lessons from Big Magic
As an academic, author and writing coach, every now and then, I step away from the world of academic texts to find inspiration elsewhere. Sometimes, the most powerful lessons on writing don’t come from traditional theory or research, but from the brave act of living creatively.
We hope this month’s Book Club review of Elizabeth Gilbert’s book ‘Big Magic-creative living beyond fear’ serves to inspire you.
